Terry Now Managing D'Arcy Wickham

For the past year, Terry has been managing the music career of D'Arcy Wickham. This has encompassed publicity, promotion, public relations, booking, and web design and maintenance on his Sonicbids website. For a snapshot of D'Arcy's music over the past year, visit his website at:

D'Arcy has had a very eventful year in 2007, including appearances at the Greenbank Folk Society in Greenbank, Acoustic Harvest in Toronto, the Hamilton Folk Society, and the Ontario Conference of Folk Festivals Conference in London, where he showcased his tune "Feather Fingers" as the winner in the instrumental category of the "Songs from the Heart" competition.

D'Arcy also happens to be Terry's guitar teacher, and an exceptional one at that. For information on D'Arcy's music lessons, see his other website at

On Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at the Lula Lounge, the Toronto Fingerstyle Guitar Association released a compilation CD featuring the original tunes of 12 of its members and featured performances from these same artists.

Appearance on Daytime Durham on Rogers Cable TV

In order to promote the benefit concert for New Orleans, Terry made an appearance on the Rogers Cable TV show,
Daytime Durham, on October 26, 2005. He was joined by Richard Elliott and Susan Latimer, both of whom would be performing at the benefit. Terry and Richard laid the foundation for the purpose and scope of the benefit during the interview, while Susan gave a sample performance.

Pickering-Ajax Guitar Association Open Mike Returns

The Pickering-Ajax Guitar Association welcomes all local musicians to its first open mike of the fall season on Wednesday, October 5 in the Banquet Room of the Bayly Restaurant, 325 Westney Rd. S at Bayly St. in Ajax. Interested musicians can sign up at 7:00 p.m. and should have three songs ready to perform.

This and all subsequent open mikes will be the first Wednesday of the month from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the Banquet Room at the restaurant. Musicians can keep up to date on all the open mikes by checking the Bayly Restaurant website:

The PAGA was originally conceived as a forum for experienced and developing guitarists. An informal group of local musicians, the association´s vision was to begin an open mike that offered an excellent listening and performing environment for the audience and the musicians. The association found that environment at one of the local Ajax restaurants, the Bayly Restaurant, in the banquet room. The association´s first open mike was Wednesday, February 2 of this year, and ran successfully the first Wednesday of each month through to June, with the intent of starting up again in the fall.

The association also sought to bring in experienced professionals who could offer workshops and concerts to aid in the development and improvement of guitar technique for local Durham Region guitarists. The first such event with
D'Arcy Wickham on July 9, 2005 at the
Bayly Restaurant was a great success. Workshop participants obtained a wealth of great instructional materials and playing tips from D'Arcy, and were treated to a powerful and engaging performance later that evening.

Benefit Concert for New Orleans

On Saturday, October 29, 2005, the
Bayly Restaurant will be hosting a five-course gourmet meal and concert to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The event will run from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the restaurant, which is at the corner of Westney Rd. and Bayly St. in Ajax, ON. Tickets for the event are $40 each and can be obtained at the restaurant or by phoning 905-427-9933.

Terry will be one of many musicians donating their services for the four hour music benefit. The five-course meal will be interspersed with the musical stylings of Susan Latimer and The Issues, Sourpuss, The Bones, Richard Elliott, Joanne Shaw, Jim Brand, Campbell-Verge, Craig and Kathleen Cameron, John Kennedy, and Terry Hart.

The restaurant will be offering the five-course meal at cost so that any profits will go to the fund-raising. All net profits will be turned over to the Canadian Red Cross, for their New Orleans Relief Fund.

PAGA Presents D'Arcy Wickham Guitar Workshop and Concert

Workshop

On Saturday, July 9 D'Arcy Wickham will be hosting a fingerstyle guitar workshop from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the
Bayly Restaurant, which is at the corner of Westney Rd. and Bayly St. in Ajax, ON. Tickets for the workshop are $15 each.

In the workshop, D'Arcy will emphasize strength in the fundamentals of fingerstyle guitar as the starting point for both newer and experienced guitarists. REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR GUITAR TO THE WORKSHOP. You may also wish to bring a tape recorder or a video camera.

Concert

Later that evening at 9:00 p.m. at the Bayly Restaurant, D'Arcy will be performing a concert. Tickets for the concert are $10 each. A combined workshop and concert ticket will be $20.
